In his speech, he outlined the goals of the Project: the development of statistical methodology, strengthening the statistical community in the CIS region and the digitalization of statistics. Mr. Konstantin Laykam informed the meeting participants that, during the implementation of the Project, more than 30 new international standards and developments (UN, ILO, UNICEF, OECD, World Bank, etc.) were translated into Russian, and on their basis 25 methodological recommendations on current statistical areas were prepared, including the SNA 2025 and international classifications. The Report noted that the holding of three international statistical Forums within the framework of the Project was a significant event in the statistical life of the Commonwealth of Independent States. They were held in St. Petersburg (2023), Tashkent (2024) and Baku (2025).

During these Forums heads and specialists from statistical services of the CIS and other countries, as well as leading experts from international organizations and higher education institutions, presented their analysis of current statistical challenges and proposed solutions. More than 30 conferences, workshops, and meetings on relevant statistical topics were also held, and training courses were organized for over 2,500 participants.

An international statistical Data Hub has been created, containing key global statistical resources with detailed metadata descriptions. A single point of access for users allows them to obtain comprehensive statistical information on CIS countries and the world.

In conclusion, Mr. Konstantin Laykam noted that, as a result of the Project's implementation over the past three years, the coordination of statistical activities in the CIS has improved, the sharing of best practices across the national statistical services of the Commonwealth countries has further developed; CIS countries have begun to more actively implement modern methodology; the development of information technology has accelerated; the Data Hub has significantly expanded the possibilities for analyzing the socio-economic situation in the CIS countries; the statistical community of the CIS has significantly strengthened; and the international prestige of the national statistical services of the CIS countries and the CIS Statistical Committee has increased.

The Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives to the CIS Statutory and Other Bodies took note of the Report of the CIS Statistical Committee on the implementation of the Project "Development of CIS Statistics" and emphasized the positive results of the activities of the national statistical services of the CIS member states, the Council of Heads of Statistical Services of the CIS Member States and the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS in the implementation of this Project.
