Mr. K.E. Laykam, Chairman of the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee, presented information to members of the CIS Economic Council on preparations for the 2030 round of Population Censuses in CIS member states, as well as a draft resolution of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS on this issue.

The draft document provides for conducting national Population Censuses in CIS member states as close as possible to 2030, as well as preparing a list of socioeconomic and migration indicators to be included in the 2030 round of national Population Censuses to ensure cross-country comparability of key Census results in the Commonwealth region.

In addition, the CIS Economic Council meeting reviewed the results of monitoring the key target macroeconomic indicators for the economic development of CIS member states for 2025, prepared by the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee in accordance with the Decision of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS of November 19, 2010 (as amended on October 30, 2015, and June 8, 2023). The analysis showed that, in 2025, the CIS member states that signed the Decision generally adhered to the recommended values for indicators characterizing macroeconomic stability.

The materials presented at the CIS Economic Council meeting will be used in the preparation and implementation of measures aimed at maintaining macroeconomic stability, achieving positive economic growth, strengthening foreign trade relations, and ensuring the sustainability of public finances and financial markets within the Commonwealth.
