The 74th plenary session of the Conference of European Statisticians of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe was held on June 24-26 in Geneva, Switzerland
The 74th annual plenary session of the UNECE Conference of European Statisticians was held on June 24-26, 2026, at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (Geneva, Switzerland). Heads and experts from national statistical offices of the CIS countries, other countries in the UNECE region, and globally, as well as heads and experts from statistical offices of international organizations, participated in the session.
The session discussed relevant issues in the development of statistics, including: strategic directions for NSOs, migration and human mobility statistics, the integration of statistical and geospatial information, the impact of social and technological transformation on the fundamental principles of official statistics, the coordination of international statistical activities in the UNECE region, the work of the High-Level Group for the Modernization of Official Statistics, reports and recommendations prepared within the framework of the Conference, and the Programme of Work on Statistics.
Mr. A.E. Kosarev, Deputy Chairman of the CIS Statistical Committee, presented a report at the session entitled "Measuring Migration in the CIS Region" He also co-presented a discussion on measuring migration and human mobility, and participated in a general discussion on other session topics.
