On February 19, 2026, the Department of Statistics of the Faculty of Economics at the Moscow State University named after M.V.Lomonosov, together with the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), the Scientific Research Institute for Problems of Socioeconomic Statistics of the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) and the Interstate Statistical Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States, will hold a scientific workshop "Methodology and Statistical Research Expertise " on the topic "Relevant Directions for the Development of Statistics in the CIS."

The upcoming session will be devoted to the discussion of the development of statistical methodology, ensuring data comparability and harmonization of statistics in the CIS countries, the use of microdata for modeling and forecasting, the creation of an International Statistical Hub, and the implementation of the latest software and technology tools that enable meaningful analysis of the socio-economic situation in the CIS countries.

In addition to the staff from the CIS Statistical Committee, Rosstat, Scientific Research Institute of for Problems of Socioeconomic Statistics of Rossta and the Moscow State University named after M.V.Lomonosov, the upcoming session is expected to be attended by the staff from the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan—students of the Master's program "Statistics and Data Management in the Modern Economy" at the Kazakhstan branch of the Moscow State University named after M.V.Lomonosov.

The workshop will be held in person on February 19, 2026, at the 3rd Academic Building of the Faculty of Economics, Moscow State University named after M.V.Lomonosov, Room P-5 (2nd floor).
